Job Description


Job Title: Business Development - Director Level (5+ years freight brokerage experience desired)


Department: Sales

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt. Salaried. Paid bi-weekly


POSITION SUMMARY

The overall responsibility of the Business Development team for Epes Logistics Services, Inc. is to manage and develop new and existing accounts in order to grow business in an organized and profitable manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Business Development: Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients within the logistics sector. Research potential markets and industries to determine the best approach for business development.


Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence. Collaborate with the pricing and operations team to align efforts and capitalize on opportunities.


Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Understand their specific logistics needs and offer tailored solutions to meet their requirements.


Presentations and Proposals: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to clients. Highlight the benefits of our logistics services and showcase how they address their unique challenges.


Negotiation and Closing Deals: Assist in negotiating contract terms and pricing with clients while ensuring mutual satisfaction. Work towards closing deals to meet or exceed sales quotas.


Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Utilize this knowledge to identify new opportunities and position our company competitively.


Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, reports, and forecasts. Provide regular updates to management on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities.


Customer Service: Act as a liaison between clients and our operational teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Address client concerns and resolve any issues to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.


Trade Shows and Networking: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to expand your professional network and promote our logistics services.


Demonstrates support to the Epes Logistics, Inc. Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.


Work with the Director of Operations to establish and promote a true quality improvement process to include the Quality Management System at the company with the involvement of all personnel.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to deliver effective presentations and build rapport with clients and team members.

Results-Oriented: Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently to achieve sales objectives.


Adaptability: The logistics industry is dynamic and fast-paced. The ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business requirements is crucial.


Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery.


Education: A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, sales, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
